The International Peace Poster Contest

Alex Cole won the 2007 Regional Peace Poster competition sponsored by the Joliet Lion’s Club. She lives with her parents Steve and Pat Cole.  She attends Joliet Middle School where she is active in music and sports. Her hobbies include drawing, snowboarding, hunting, rodeoing, and being with her horses.  Alex plans to attend college with an interest in veterinarian medicine and continue with her rodeo competitions.  When asked of her idea of peace, she responded, “Let peace fly around  the world! ” Congratulations, Alex.

About the Contest:

Lions clubs can sponsor this program for children in local schools or organized, sponsored youth groups. Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate. Through the contest, students are encouraged to visually depict their interpretation of the contest's theme. Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.

Lions clubs may purchase a contest kit through the Club Supplies Sales Department (see link below). A kit must be purchased for each contest sponsored. The contest must be sponsored by a Lions club.
